Norway - Sweden
The exact border point is at the rectangular stone at the right side of
the picture, which is taken in July 1996 at Bjørnfjell between Narvik
(N) and Kiruna (S). (The picture is photographed from Swedish side.)
The photo actually perpetuate my
daughter's first steps ever into her father's native country.

| This picture from
2002 is photographed towards left (south) compared to the upper picture,
from a point about 20 meters from the highway. Behind is the old Riksgrensen
railway station. Until 1925 there was located a railway station
directly on the Norwegian Swedish border. It was used for changing
locomotives and personel. The present Riksgränsen rail stop is located
about 1 km. inside Swedish side.
A number of cabins is also
visible.
In the left part of this picture is a
wooden marker. Can this be some kind of a boundary marker? |
 |
| This is a
close-up of this «marker», located in the middle of a mash.
Of course this can not be a regular
Norwegian - Swedish border marker - they are much bigger and made by
concrete, but maybe some kind of an unofficial marker? |
