The
boundary in the middle of Gilsfjörður appeared more as a county border
between Barðastrandarsýsla county and its Reykjahólahreppur
municipality in north and Dalasýsla county in south. Note that
here the county is not called "Austur-Barðastrandarsýsla"
– Barðastrandarsýsla is usually split in one western (Vestur)
and one eastern (Austur) part.
