Border
marker 601 is the easternmost French-Spanish marker which are placed on
the top of dry land. The very last is located inside a cave near the
sea-level. |

Spanish text on the marker is "Instituto Geografico. Nacional Vertice Geodécico. La destrucción de esta señal esta penada por la ley."
which translated into English means "Geo-Institute. National Geodetic Vertex. The destruction of this signal is punishable by law."
The vertices are used as a reference for developing cartographic maps. Spain has about 11,000. |
