Jan S. Krogh's Geosite: At Norviliskes, Lithuania - Byelorussia –
BYLT Fence Ends
Southeast of the former monastery of Norviliskes
located northeast of the Dieveniskes village, the border fence stopped just
before the almost 90° corner where the boundary turns west-southwest. At this
point the corner is marked in a most unusual way with one Lithuanian boundary
post (no. 0871) and two Byelorussian boundary posts (without numbers!) around an
ordinary centre marker.
The photo is taken
on 15 July 2003 during the visit of the IBRG's GBBE team, and is photographed in
north-northwest direction. In the right part of the picture is a Byelorussian
border patrol road.
